被誉为奥斯卡金像奖风向球的金球奖颁奖典礼，日前在美国洛杉矶比佛利希尔顿饭店（Beverly Hilton）举行，由《赛斯梅尔深夜脱口秀》（Late Night with Seth Meyers）主持人赛斯梅尔（Seth Meyers）担任第75届的典礼主持工作。
《水底情深》（The Shape of Water）、《邮报：密战》（The Post）、《意外》（Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri）是本届获得提名奖项最多的前三部电影，获得6项入围的《意外》（Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri），最后抱回戏剧类最佳电影、最佳女主角、最佳男配角及最佳剧本等4大奖，是本届电影类最大赢家；荣获7项入围的《水底情深》（The Shape of Water），则是抱回了最佳导演和最佳配乐两个奖项，至于同样是6项入围的《邮报：密战》，此次全数杠龟。而戏剧类最佳男主角则是颁给了在《最黑暗的时刻》（Darkest Hour）诠释丘吉尔的盖瑞欧德曼（Gary Oldman）。
音乐及喜剧类方面，美国男星詹姆斯法兰柯（James Franco）凭著《大灾难家》（The Disaster Artist）勇夺音乐及喜剧类最佳男主角，创下烂番茄（Rotten Tomatoes）满分评价纪录的《淑女鸟》（Lady Bird），则是获得了音乐及喜剧类最佳电影及最佳女主角两大奖。
