有“末日博士”（Dr.Doom）之称的纽约大学经济学教授鲁比尼（Nouriel Roubini）2日在台北举行的“亚洲区块链高峰会”（Asia Blockchain Summit）演讲时炮轰加密货币是大灾难、区块链根本是浪费钱，不仅引起加密货币爱好者热议，还杠上了同样出席这场盛会的加密货币交易所币安（Binance）创办人赵长鹏和比特币衍生性金融商品交易所BitMEX创办人海耶斯（Auther Hayes）。

在昨早鲁比尼对加密货币和区块链大加抨击之后，人在现场的币安创办人赵长鹏随即在推特上痛批，鲁比尼作为1个看不到加密货币未来的人，却花数天的时间参加加密货币领域的会议，“这是我今年在亚洲第2次与他重叠的会议，他有事可做吗？也许他是伪装的中本聪???”
鲁比尼随后发推反击，称“我听过最可悲的批评就是来自这个混蛋”。鲁比尼表示，由于自己是加密货币领域里唯一诚实的批评者，故被选为全球加密货币圈内第3有影响力的人，不像赵长鹏是个每周7天、全天24小时说得天花乱坠的“假货推销员”（snake oil peddler）。

赵长鹏则回复推文说：“呵呵，谁是这里的混蛋？1个建立他所信仰的事情的人？抑或是1个去参加加密货币会议，却只为了说比特币是诈骗的人？”
除了杠上身为全球交易量最大的加密货币交易所币安创办人赵长鹏，鲁比尼还杠上了全球最大比特币期货交易所BitMEX创办人海耶斯。

在今早鲁比尼和海耶斯在亚洲区块链高峰会上就有关加密货币的发展展开激烈交锋后，鲁比尼又在推特上开炮，称“区块链会议的组织者们屈服于BitMEX的审查制度，没有录制或播放我和海耶斯的辩论；他让他的下属录制了唯一1卷录像带，并将其隐藏起来，公开那卷带子，胆小鬼！”
海耶斯则发推回应，“别担心，我们的录影会曝光你对经济和科技的浅薄理解。看过这些录影后，如果你被允许进入任何高等教育机构，我会感到惊讶”。
