美国与中国贸易战持续恶化，23日中国突然宣布对美国加征关税，美国总统川普今天回应中国的关税，宣布原定9月1日起向3000亿美元中国货商品征收的10%关税，调升至15%；并在10月1日将原先对2500亿中国商品征收25%的关税，调升至30%。
中国国务院23日晚间突然宣布，将分两轮对美国750亿美元、5078项产品加征5%至10%关税，分别自9月1日、12月15日开始实施，以报复美国9月和12月中对3000亿美元中国产品加征10%新关税。
川普今天在推特上连发4则推文，他表示，多年来中国和许多其他国家一直在贸易上利用美国，包含知识产权盗窃等问题，美国每年都要从中国损失数千亿美元，而且看不到尽头。川普说，“可悲的是，过去的-允许中国在公平和平衡贸易之前走得太远，这已经成为美国纳税人的巨大负担，作为总统，不能再允许这种情况发生！本着实现公平贸易的精神，我们必须平衡这个不公平的贸易关系。中国不应该对750亿美元的美国产品征收新的关税，这些都出于政治动机！”
川普指出，对中国的2500亿美元商品和产品，目前征税25%，将从10月1日开始，税率上调至30%。此外，从9月1日起以10%的税率征收的来自中国剩余3000亿美元商品和产品，现在将征收15%的税。
